Info: Jacqueline began her training with Arnott Mader of the Richmond Ballet and went on study at the Virginia School of the Arts and with the Lake Erie Ballet. As a student at NC State, she danced under the direction of Robin Harris, performing at numerous colleges, ACDFA and at the Kennedy Center. Upon graduating from the School of Design, Jacqueline went on to study and dance with the Nutmeg Ballet before returning to North Carolina to teach and perform. Since moving to Charlotte, she has danced under the direction of Martha Connerton as a founding member of Kinetic Works and in Ms. Connerton's SummerDance ensemble, as well as with with Kim Robards Dance, in Denver, Co. Info: Naima has been a national performer, choreographer, and teacher of Middle Eastern dance for 10 years. A student of dance since age 3, she has studied ballet, jazz, and modern variations with the Richmond Ballet as well as with Marian Meese, giving her technique the framework of western dance and the substance of Middle Eastern Orientale. As a former principal with the Pyramid Dance Co. in Memphis, TN, as well as with the Lotus Dancers of Omaha, NC, she was most recently a member of Zarifa's Charlotte-based Hadadah Dancers and is a current member of Magic Hips. Although best known for her articulate performances to the Egyptian classics and for her elaborate veil work, Naima has also researched and brought traditional folkloric elements from North Africa, the Arabian Penninsula, and Turkey into modern stage choreographies. Info:Sarah Emery is the associate director of Carolina Kids in Motion, a physical education program designed to enhance the curriculum in schools by improving motor and social development in children through the use of movement and music.She is also co-founder of Echo Arts Productions, Charlotte’s newest innovative dance theater and entertainment provider for special events. Sarah has been a dance instructor at numerous schools in the Charlotte region including North Carolina Dance Theater, Charlotte School of Ballet, Bonita’s School of Dance, and Visions Dance Academy. Sarah has danced professionally with numerous companies across the country including the Moving Poets Theater of Dance, North Carolina Dance Theatre, Omaha Theater Ballet, Terpsicorps Theatre of Dance, Kim Robards Dance and Tulsa Ballet Theatre. Her dance training began in Norfolk, Va at the Tidewater Ballet Association and she later continued her training at the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem. Name: Yasmiin Tarlton

Info: Yasmiin spent her childhood in the Middle East and then moved to Durham, North Carolina for her middle and high school years. She graduated from Appalachian State University in 2001 with a degree in public relations and was also a member of their performance dance team. She holds both a group exercise and Zumba certification and has been teaching hip-hop and jazz classes for over six years at local gyms and dance studios in North Carolina. She has also worked for a national non-profit foundation for over three years. Since 2002 she has been coaching the Myers Park High School Varsity Cheerleading squad and was successful in taking the squad to state competitions and placing in the top three almost every year. Recently she enrolled at UNC-Charlotte to pursue a Masters of Arts in Dance Education and upon completion plans on teaching dance in the public school system. |

He has attended a number of prestigious schools including the Tilman School of the Arts, NC School of the Arts, and Southern Methodist University. Key awards and accolades include the NAACP Youth Award, Pride Magazine 2003 Outstanding Performing Artist of the Year, and Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools Community Involvement Award. Info: Jena has performed professionally for more than a decade. Jena was featured in the hit movie "Dirty Dancin'" and starred in Merv Griffin's stage shows performing with Broadway and stage stars including Tony Bennett, Chita Rivera, Tommy Tune, and many more. Her performance experience enabled her to produce, direct, and choreograph all over the world with a division of Paramont Pictures. She has spent the last year as a national talent judge for dance competitions across the US. Jena is so excited to be home in Charlotte to share her vast knowledge and experience with children and adults. Watch for some of Jena's Broadway friends from Cabaret. She was drawn to yoga for the athleticism, grace and natural rhythms and discovered the other benefits it offered her; a quieter mind, a kinder heart and a toned body. Info:Originally from Miami, Florida, Alexis began her dance training at Ballet Etudes of South Florida. She furthered her early training with Marielena Mencia, Rosario Suarez and continued at New World School of the Arts. She has recently performed with Dance Kaleidoscope, The Indianapolis Opera, Moving Collective and Empujón. In 2003, Alexis graduated from Butler University (Indianapolis, IN) with a degree in Dance Pedagogy and has since taught at Jordan College Academy of Dance(IN), and the Louisville Ballet School (KY). Alexis is also a trained Pilates instructor and a Licensed Instructor of Nurturing Pathways® Early Childhood Creative Dance.
