Belly Dance I: Basic fundamental movements and choreographed routines with an introduction to zill patterns. Belly Dance II: Intro to veil work and more concentration on zills with intermediate movements and five choreographed routines. Dress: All Students need soft or dance shoes (not running shoes or shoes with grip, bare feet are okay), comfortable clothes or dance wear, and zills (finger cymbals), which may be purchased at class. Hip-Hop: Students will be introduced to hip hop culture and history through dance. Class will focus on syncopated rhythms, body isolations and choreography. While it is important to grasp the choreography and technique, emphasis is placed on style and personality. Students will begin with a short warm-up combination, followed by isolations, stretching, across the floor and finish with choreography center floor. Yoga: A Power Vinyasa Yoga class for all levels! Whether you are a beginner or seasoned yogi, this class will be catered to suit your capabilities, while challenging your edge. Beneficial for dancers and non-dancers alike, anyone who is looking to find some peace and get a great workout at the same time is welcome. Breakdance (bboy and bgirl): Bboying is an art form that takes alot of practice and discipline, not to mention dedication! In this class, students will learn about the four basic elements which form the foundation of B-boying: "Toprock," a term referring to the upright dancing and shuffles that B-boys do when they enter a circle; "Downrock or Footwork," dancing performed on the floor; " the Freeze," the poses that B-boys throw into their dance sets to add punctuation to certain beats and to end their routines; and "The Power moves," the acrobatic moves normally made up of circular motions where the dancer will spin either on the floor, or in the air. Ballet Fitness: This one hour long ballet workout will use a series of simple ballet exercises and resistance band work to strengthen and stretch target areas such as arms, gluteus, legs, general core and specific abdominals. The class is designed for any level of dancer to aid in strength and conditioning to the non dancer who is looking to add to their strength and flexibility. It is a fun, relaxed atmosphere suitable for anyone wanting to add to their fitness level. All you will need to bring is a yoga mat for the floor work.
